Speed & Agility: Faster First Step. Every Step.

Speed wins games. We coach the full picture — acceleration, top-end speed, change of direction, deceleration, and reaction — so you're not just fast in a straight line, you're fast where it counts. Serving athletes across Charlotte, Huntersville & Lake Norman.

Speed Is A Skill

Yes, You Can Get Faster

The myth that "you can't teach speed" costs athletes years of untapped potential. Speed and agility are skills — built from mechanics, force production, and coordination — and that means they can be coached.

At BBT we break speed down into its parts and rebuild them: how you put force into the ground, how you carry your arms, how fast you cover the first ten yards, how cleanly you stop and re-accelerate, and how quickly you react to a stimulus. Then we reinforce it all with plyometrics and the strength that lets you actually express the speed you build. Whether you're an 8-year-old learning to sprint or an adult chasing a step you used to have, you can get faster. We train athletes of every age and level.

What You'll Develop

Every Component Of Game Speed

🚀

Acceleration

The first three to ten yards win most plays. We drill explosive starts, body angles, and force application so your first step is unfair.

🏁

Top-End Speed

Once you're up to speed, mechanics decide whether you pull away or get caught. We coach max-velocity sprinting and stride quality.

↩️

Change Of Direction

Cuts, crossovers, and redirections that keep your body controlled and your momentum intact — the agility that separates good from great.

🛑

Deceleration

The most overlooked skill in sport. Learning to brake and absorb force lets you cut harder, change direction faster, and protect your joints.

👁️

Reaction & Sprint Mechanics

Reactive agility off a live stimulus plus clean arm action, posture, and foot strike so your speed shows up in the game, not just the drill.

💥

Plyometrics & Power

Bounds, hops, and jumps — paired with Keiser pneumatic strength work — to build the elastic, explosive power that fuels every fast movement.

Who It's For

Anyone Who Needs To Move Faster

How It Works

From First Test To Faster Times

1

Test & Diagnose

We capture your baseline — 10-yard, pro-agility, vertical — and film your sprint and cutting mechanics to find exactly where time is being lost.

2

Rebuild Mechanics

We coach acceleration angles, max-velocity posture, deceleration, and cutting technique with drills tailored to your sport and weaknesses.

3

Add Power & Reaction

Plyometrics, Keiser strength work, and reactive agility layer on the force and quickness that turn clean technique into real game speed.

4

Re-Test & Prove It

We re-test on a schedule so you see your numbers drop — and we keep progressing the work as you get faster.

The BBT Method

Why Athletes Get Faster Here

01

Coached, Not Just Run

Every rep is corrected. Drills without coaching just make you faster at moving wrong.

02

Force First

Speed is force into the ground. We build strength and power so there's something to express.

03

Keiser Technology

Pneumatic resistance trains power and contrast work you won't find at most gyms.

04

Measured Progress

We test, train, and re-test so your gains are real numbers, not just a feeling.

FAQ

Speed & Agility Questions

Is speed really trainable, or are you just born fast?

Speed is highly trainable. Genetics set a ceiling, but almost no athlete is anywhere near theirs. Acceleration mechanics, force production, stride quality, deceleration, and reaction can all be coached and improved at any age. We've seen meaningful drops in 10-yard and pro-agility times across youth, high school, and adult athletes.

How fast will I see results from speed and agility training?

Mechanics improvements often show up within the first few weeks — athletes feel cleaner, more coordinated sprints quickly. Measurable changes in 10-yard and change-of-direction times typically appear over 6 to 12 weeks of consistent training, with continued gains as strength and power develop alongside the speed work.

Is speed and agility training good for youth athletes?

Yes. Youth is an ideal window to build clean sprint mechanics, coordination, and movement skill before bad habits set in. We scale intensity and volume appropriately for younger athletes and emphasize technique, landing mechanics, and fun, competitive drills. We train athletes of every age, youth through adult.

Should speed work be a standalone program or combined with strength?

Both work, but they're better together. Speed and agility can stand alone, but strength and power are what raise your ceiling — you can only express force you've built. Many athletes pair speed-focused sessions with our strength and conditioning programming for the fastest, most durable results. We'll recommend the right mix at your free assessment.
