BBT Sports Performance was built in Charlotte to do one thing extremely well: take the strength & conditioning methods that develop college athletes and make them available to everyone — youth, high school, college offseason, and adults who still compete.
Most gyms in the Charlotte area fall into two camps. There are commercial gyms with rows of machines and no real coaching, and there are "speed schools" that run kids through cones for an hour and call it training. Neither develops a complete athlete.
We started BBT Sports Performance because we believed Charlotte, Huntersville, and Lake Norman families deserved better — a place where the programming is built on the same proven principles used inside Division I weight rooms, delivered by coaches who have actually competed and coached at a high level. Not a watered-down version. The real thing, scaled appropriately to each athlete's age and ability.
Our mission is simple: develop athletes who are faster, stronger, more resilient, and more confident — and to make that level of training accessible to an eight-year-old just learning to move well, a high schooler chasing a college roster spot, and an adult who refuses to slow down. Every program here is original, individualized, and measured. We do not guess. We test, we coach, and we prove it.
Four principles separate genuine collegiate development from everything else. They are present in every session, for every age group.
We program in cycles the way college S&C staffs do — building a base, developing strength, then converting it to power and speed around the competitive season. Training is planned months out, not improvised week to week.
Keiser pneumatic resistance lets athletes move with real intent and velocity, enabling true power and contrast training that traditional iron can't replicate. It's the same technology found in elite performance centers.
Every athlete trains a program built around their sport, position, training age, and physical needs. A 12-year-old multi-sport athlete and a college lineman home for summer are not handed the same plan.
We measure vertical jump, 10-yard dash, agility, and strength benchmarks on a regular cadence. Numbers tell us what's working, hold athletes accountable, and show families real, objective progress.
If you compete — or want to move and feel like you do — there's a place for you here.
We've competed, we've coached, and we're certified. You're training with people who have lived what they teach.

Inside you'll find Keiser pneumatic equipment for power and contrast work, a dedicated turf surface for speed, agility, and movement training, full racks and platforms for foundational strength, and the testing technology we use to measure vertical jump, sprint times, and agility on a regular basis. Every square foot is built to make athletes better — and to give families objective proof that the work is paying off.
